For the past few years I have been captured by the intricate beauty that I encountered in the Geometric Islamic Patterns. It is a very personal  point of view but I believe it speaks to me of a sublime beauty, which is intriguing, bewildering, intricate, feminine and confusing all at the same time. I have been attracted by them for many years now and in my work I try to find a personal way of paying homage to the original designs and their anonymous makers.

To honour my purpose, I believe it is necessary for the patterns to be modified or altered in a tangible but subtle way, reflecting my respect and bewilderment towards the inspiration while adding my own sensibility to the designs.

Because I believe that each pattern is unique, I feel the need to make each piece entirely by hand, spending hours drawing, piercing and finishing them with care. Many have asked why I do not use alternative mass production techniques instead, to hurry the process up, my answer has been the same, it is not a question of speed but a question of dedication, patience and a continuous connection between history, materials and myself. Perfection is not the final quest, it is to find the unique aspect in each design in all of its different levels, making it an intimate connection between the wearer, the history and me.

Because the collection is made up of one off pieces, I only have in my possession one of each. I am more than happy to produce another one fitting your finger or wrist or left of necklace, taking into account that each piece will take at least 2 weeks if not more.
